Blush Mystery Beauty Box - February 2014
I don't know what urged me to sign up for a $26.51 mystery box...but I did. I knew what I would be getting this month since I had been looking at videos and blogs and that was part of what made me sign up. I also like to make sure that I am getting what I am paying for. I think the other thing was that I also used to get Birchbox for $10 and Beauty Army for $12. So I had at one point been spending pretty much the same amount, but on 2 different subscriptions services. I contemplated Glossybox, but I saw it was hit or miss on the value. This one seemed worth it every month so far.
I have high standards now.
But I already cannot wait for next month.
Keep reading to learn what I got!
Each month they have a featured curator that chooses 1 product to feature. This month is was Michelle Blaugrund (DermStore SPA Esthetician) who chose to feature the Bioxidea Cosmetics Miracle 48 Excellence masks. You received 1 out of 2 masks, either Gold or Diamond. I received the Diamond. I am about to go look up the difference. The Diamond is for all skin types and the Gold is for Acneic skin. And they are normally $79!! Holy S**t.. (well, for a 3 piece). I am unsure if there is only 1 or if there are 3. I think there is only 1 in the bag. It contains diamond powder....And it really is a face and body treatment. The directions have you use it as a face mask, then dissolve it in water and add to your bath. It's also 100% natural and paraben-free. So cool.
NYX Are you deprEYEved of... long and full lashses mascara serum in Jet Black. Retails for $13. This was full size. I can't wait to try this. I love NYX and I love trying new mascaras. I have yet to find a mascara I really truly love.
NCLA Nails Wraps - Pizzo. Retails for $16. This was full size as well. I've only used nail wraps once and they didn't stay on me very well. I have a bunch more sitting around but I haven't used them. I love this pattern. But it is not one I would use on all my fingers at once. This is a pattern you use as an accent, or on two or three fingers.
KLORANE Dry Shampoo with Nettle. Retails for $19.50. This was another full size product. I have never used a KLORANE product, but I have heard some really good reviews and this product also has a 5 star rating on the blush.com website. I have quite oily hair, so dry shampoos are awesome for me.
DHC Deep Cleansing Oil. Retails for $5.50 (travel size). This was the travel size and is 1 fl. oz. Full size is 6.7 fl. oz. and is $28.00. Along time ago I got a few foil packet samples of some DHC products. And I really liked them and wanted to try more. This gives me the perfect opportunity. I love the thought of cleansing with oil, especially right now in the winter when my skin is dry. I do have oily skin but I still use oils on my face. Especially before I go to bed, that way they can soak into my skin and by the time I wake up I can use some witch hazel and take any oil away for the day.
VBEAUTE Rub Off Gentale Facial Exfoliator. This retails for $18.00 for 0.5 fl. oz (which this one is). This is the travel size version. Full size is 3.4 fl. oz. and is $24.00 (such a better deal). So excited for this and my dry skin. I am wondering if it is a physical exfoliator or a chemical one. I use a Clarisonic. But this may be okay to use with it.
Elizabeth Arden Untold. The size I received, which is the travel or deluxe sample size is 1.7oz and retails for $59.00. It is an eau de parfum and not a eau de toilette. So it's quite strong. A teeny bit goes a long way. I also am sensitive to smells in that they'll give me headaches. This one kind of is already. And I only used a drop or two on my wrists. It's not one I would lean towards. But I mean, I'll probably wear it. Although it might be a little heavy for summer. Spring it may be okay.
That is everything that came in the bag. I did receive a full size Johnathan Product Finish control High Shine Flexible Hairspray. I don't know if this was because it was my first box and this was a free gift. I think I had seen that other people got a free gift with their first box as well. Totally not complaining. I needed a hairspray. It retails for $30.00. It is also Vegan and has a five star rating.
Also, with every Blush/Dermstore/Hair Envy purchase you get free samples with your order. I got 2 foil packets of a couple Vichy products and a Dermstore Lip Quench. Which reminded me I had received one in an old MyGlam bag before they turned to Ipsy. And have lost it. But I remembered liking it. That retails for $12 for one and right now they are running a sale on the 2-pack for $16.00. The smell is a little overwhelming for me, but it feels really good. It is a pale pearly pink shade.
